At the end of your first appointment, you will be told if you require further tests, or a follow-up appointment. If you require a follow-up, you will usually be able to arrange a suitable time and date with the hospital receptionist before you leave. You will also receive a new appointment letter (and later a reminder letter) for your follow-up appointment. If you have any questions about the follow-up process, then you should ask your doctor to explain it. If you do not need a follow-up appointment after your initial consultation, but this later changes, then you will need to arrange another consultation via a GP.
