National hair-loss charity, Alopecia UK, is hosting its fifth Big Weekend event from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th September 2019. The weekend includes a series of events for those affected by alopecia. This year’s host city is Bristol. Four individual events make up the full weekend – Friday evening drinks reception, Saturday daytime conference, Saturday evening buffet dinner & disco and Sunday daytime awareness walk; attendees can choose to attend either one, two, three or all four elements of the event.
The weekend will include an Exhibition Hall (with big name brands including Eylure, Freedom Hair and Trendco, plus many more), workshops and demonstrations. There will also be talks about a variety of subjects relating to hair loss including, wigs, permanent make up & scalp micropigmentation, treatments, and coping. Concert Pharmaceuticals will be in attendance to inform attendees about JAK Inhibitors and their plans for Phase 3 Clinical Trials which they hope to bring to Europe, including the UK.
Most importantly, there will be plenty of opportunities to chat to others with alopecia, allowing attendees to share experiences and gain valuable support, information and advice.
Early bird tickets are on sale now! Booking links for workshops, Henna treatments and permanent make up eyebrow treatments will be sent to those who have purchased their tickets before midnight on Thursday 22nd August, so early booking is advisable.
Big Weekend 2019 will also include separate activities for children, teens and parents with children with alopecia able to attend the event for FREE.
Feedback from previous events shows how valuable the event can be for those with alopecia:
“I’ve never met so many people with alopecia in one place. So lovely to meet others who are in the
same boat”.
“Attending the Big Weekend built my confidence and reassured me that I’m not alone. It was
empowering”.
“I got the most out of talking to the exhibitors. They were friendly and it was good to pick their brains
about stuff I haven’t really discussed with anyone”.
